This page is for my original intentions. These are the things I am intending to do throughout the project but maybe subject to change. Any changes will not be displayed here but will be noted throughout the Development Centre pages.
I will be creating a website (these pages you are reading) using Adobe Dreamweaver CS4. I will use this program to create html webpages that I will upload to a free host webserver to host my ePortfolio online. This has already been done as you are reading this but wasn't at the time of writing. These webpages will be used to track my progress and get the information from me to the people interested in my progress.
Another two programs from within the Adobe Creative Suite are programs called Fireworks and Photoshop. I will be using these two programs to create images in several formats (*.jpg, *.png, *.gif etc) and optimize them for webpages or the applications they will be used in.
Visual Studio will come in useful for Visual Basic 6 Enterprise. I will be using Visual Basic for creating GUI's (or Graphical User Interfaces) for my applications that I will create. These applications will be programs for WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment) which will control the recovery controls for the Windows Operating Systems. This will make it easier for end-users to repair common faults in their computers without the need of paying for a repair service.
The most important and rarely used (or programmed by common designers/developers) part of the whole project is the Windows OPK (OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Pre-Installation Kit). This is a free download to people legitimately registered to the Microsoft Partnership Programme for OEM's. I used FMCR to create a partnership with Microsoft and I download the OPK for Windows Vista. This program will help me create Answer Files (for unattended operating system installations), customise OS settings pre-install, and change settings so that I can install FMCR Branding onto the Operating System. |
